Red Team Pathway

Offensive Security Training for Aspiring Red Teamers

This pathway is designed to build strong offensive security skills required for red team operations. Learners will start from the basics of computer systems, operating systems, and networks, and progress through advanced topics such as Active Directory exploitation, web and SQL vulnerabilities, enumeration, brute force, password cracking, and exploitation techniques. By completing this pathway, students will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience to think like an attacker and prepare organizations for real-world threats.

Learning Journey

  1. Beginner · 1h 25m

Foundations of computing: hardware, bits and bytes, number systems, and programming basics to understand how computers represent and process data.

  2. Beginner · 4h 21m

Windows essentials for security: files, CMD, processes, services, registry, shares, permissions, and Sysinternals tools for investigation and administration.

  3. Beginner · 6h 46m

Core networking: IP addressing, models, key protocols, Wireshark analysis, routing, Ethernet, and essential practices for analyzing and securing networks.

  4. Beginner · 5h 50m

Master Linux basics: filesystem, permissions, commands, users, text tools, logs, repositories, and scheduling for practical security operations.

  5. Beginner · 2h 19m

Foundations of cryptography: encoding versus encryption, symmetric and asymmetric methods, hashes, signatures, and certificates securing modern communication.

  6. Intermediate · 5h 13m

Install, configure, and secure Active Directory: manage domains, objects, group policies, and apply best practices for enterprise identity and access.

  7. Beginner · 3h 34m

Intro to SQL: write queries, use UNION, run MySQL commands, and explore Information Schema to understand database structure and metadata.

  8. Intermediate · 2h 26m

Practical SQL Injection: understand risks, perform login bypass and UNION-based techniques, map databases, and apply defenses for secure web apps.

  9. Intermediate · 3h 58m

Network and service enumeration with nmap: scan hosts and ports, detect versions, and enumerate web, SMB, and FTP for weaknesses.

  10. Beginner · 3h 14m

Brute-force fundamentals: build wordlists, automate attempts with Hydra, target services and web apps, and implement effective mitigations.

  11. Beginner · 1h 28m

Recover plaintext from hashes with tools like John the Ripper; understand algorithms, rainbow tables, and defenses improving password security.

  12. Intermediate · 3h 35m

Exploitation fundamentals: vulnerabilities, payloads, Metasploit usage, auxiliaries, Meterpreter, and post-exploitation to understand attacker techniques and defenses.
